Situation
Successful employee-owned global engineering services business holding numerous patents and proprietary inventions was seeing revenues plateau and an increase by new competitors – both stand alone and brought in-house by customers.

What strategy should the company pursue as they look to the next 25 years.
Action
An assessment showed the opportunity for further expansion globally but first there needed to be a reorganization of the Sales process, and an investment in infrastructure to support a more distributed management approach with success metrics. A BRIC analysis showed Brazil and India as potential expansion options – these were pursued.
Result
The company reported the second highest revenue year in it’s 25+year history and grew its European business and expanded with partnerships in India. This made the company a lucrative acquisition target and was purchased by a global machine manufacturer who paid a significant premium.
